NEVAALONE AT HOME

  • Emergency assistance from our highly trained NevaAlone Support Team means we are here for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • You choose the help you require: St John Ambulance, Freedom Ambulance, NZ Police, NZ Fire Service or a loved one
  • If in the event of an alarm activation, we dispatch an ambulance, we will pay for the call-out.
  • The water-resistant Personal Help Button can be worn as a neck pendant or wristband in the shower.
  • The two-way voice intercom doubles as a speakerphone allowing you to communicate with our highly trained NevaAlone Support Team and emergency services.  If you are unable to communicate, we will dispatch emergency services straight away.
  • The personal help button has a long-range capability of approximately 100-200 metres from the medical unit.

Find out about Financial Assistance?

The majority of our clients who have a medical alarm, receive financial assistance from the Ministry of Social Development, through the Disability Allowance.

In order to have a medical alarm in your home funded by the Ministry of Development, there are two criteria you must satisfy:

Your doctor must agree that you require a medical alarm

Your income must be within the total allowable income threshold

Our trained Consultants are very happy to visit you in your own home and talk to you about the application process.  It is quite simple and our aim is to make it as easy as possible for you - our consultants carry all the necessary forms and can answer any questions you may have.  If you wish to involve your family or a support person, we can arrange a visit time to suit everyone.  

Already Receive the Disability Allowance?

If you are already receiving the Disability Allowance, it is very easy to apply for the funding of a medical alarm.  There is one form, which you will need to have completed by your doctor.  Our local consultant will be able to provide this form to you.

FAQS

How does NevaAlone medical alarm work?

All of our alarms connect to either the 3G or 4G cellular network just like a cell phone.  They work completely independently of everything else in your home, so they do not interfere with your landline telephone, your cell phone or your wifi.      

What is the process if I activate NevaAlone medical alarm?

Our trained monitoring centre specialists will attempt to communicate with you either via the base unit of the medical unit or your GPS medical alarm.  We will confirm with you the type of emergency assistance required and connect you with this service, eg, St John.  If you are unable to communicate with us, we will automatically connect you with St John or Freedom Ambulance.  Once the emergency service has been notified you require assistance, we will then contact your Emergency Contact (family member, friend, caregiver or neighbour) to inform someone else of your emergency.  We will continue to stay in communication with the emergency service until we know your assistance has arrived.

I live in a retirement village, what are the benefits of a NevaAlone medical alarm as opposed to what the village can offer me? 

We have many clients who reside in a retirement village who have the extra security of a NevaAlone medical alarm.  Our medical alarms provide an extra layer of security as some villages only have buttons on the walls of the units.  If you have a fall you may not be able to reach a button on the wall. Some retirement villages have one nurse or no onsite nurse during afterhours meaning there could be delays in someone attending to you should something happen at night time.  Our alarms are monitored 24/7 meaning we immediately connect you to emergency services.  Our pendant range could be greater than the retirement village pendants and we can also offer an alarm that has GPS capabilities which allows you to be connected to emergency services almost anywhere in NZ.

What is the cost of a NevaAlone Alarm?
